Has anyone else gotten constant blue screens after trying to upgrade from Window?

Post by 6FFl1iR0GF »

Has anyone else gotten constant blue screens after trying to upgrade from Windows 10 to 11? My PC meets the requirements, but the install fails and now I get random BSODs even during normal use. I’ve seen errors like `CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED` and `KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE`. It’s really frustrating. Rolling back to Windows 10 seems to stop it. Any ideas on how to fix this for good?

Quick tip: Yeah, that's a common headache after a failed upgrade. I'd run the Windows 11 Installation Assistant again, but choose to do a clean install this time—it usually sorts out those leftover driver conflicts causing the BSODs.

Same here. Agreed, a clean install is the way to go. Just make sure to back up your important files first, because it will wipe your drive.

You could also try running the Windows Update Troubleshooter first, as it can sometimes fix broken update files causing this. Let me know if that works.

Yeah, that's a good start—if the troubleshooter doesn't help, could you check if your BIOS and drivers are up to date?

Agreed. This happened to me. I fixed it by booting from a USB installer and doing a clean install instead of the upgrade.

Thanks! I did the clean install, but now none of my old files are on the computer. Is that normal?

Agreed. You could also try running the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool, as those errors can sometimes point to a RAM issue.

Yeah, that's a good call. Also, check for any pending driver updates in Windows Update, especially for your chipset and storage.
