Yeah, that's a known headache after a major upgrade. To lock things down for next time, you can try exporting your privacy settings as a "provisioning package" after you've got them all set.

Has anyone else had privacy settings totally reset after upgrading to Windows 11? My microphone and camera access for apps got re-enabled across the board, and now I'm getting "0xA00F4243" errors in my Camera app because it's trying to access something blocked. I went through and turned everything off again, but it's frustrating. Is there a way to prevent this from happening on future updates?

Yeah, same here. A quick tip: after you re-disable everything, create a system restore point so you can roll back if it happens again.

This happened to me after the 22H2 update. I had to go back and manually disable all the app permissions again.

Yeah, that update was a real pain. A quick tip: double-check the privacy settings under both the system and individual apps after any major update.

Agreed. I had the same problem after upgrading. My location settings and app permissions all reverted, and it took a while to lock everything back down. Hope that helps.

Thanks! I made that package, but how do I actually use it to lock things down before the next update?

You could also use a local group policy editor to lock down those settings if you have Windows Pro. Another option is to create a system restore point right after you get everything configured.

This solution worked on my system too. Thanks!
