Agreed. This happened to me too. I ended up enabling fTPM in my BIOS, but the performance on that old chip just wasn't worth the hassle.

You could also check if your motherboard has a dedicated TPM header and add a physical module, but that's an extra cost.

Before you buy anything, have you checked if your motherboard's BIOS has a setting to enable a firmware TPM (often called fTPM)?
