This. Yeah, that's a common headache with those tools. A quick tip: check the developer's site or GitHub after major updates—they're usually pretty fast with fixes.

You could also try setting your default browser manually in Windows settings, then using Edge's own settings to stop it from taking over links from apps.

Agreed. Have you already tried that, and are you still seeing Edge open certain links from those apps?

+1 I had the same problem. I used MSEdgeRedirect for a while and my Start Menu search was fine, but a Windows update later broke the widgets panel for me.

Yeah, This happened to me too. The widgets panel broke after an update, but I just reinstalled the tool and it's been stable for months now.

+1 Agreed, and a quick tip: just keep the tool updated when Windows gets a major update to avoid hiccups. Hope that helps.

+1 This happened to me, and using MSEdgeRedirect actually made my widgets work better since they finally opened in my preferred browser.

Same here. You could also try setting your default browser more aggressively in Windows settings, as that sometimes overrides the app-specific links.

Can confirm. I had the same problem. I used MSEdgeRedirect for a while and it worked fine—my other apps like widgets still opened normally without any issues.
