Yeah, that S error is usually Secure Boot; did you find that setting in the BIOS under the Security or Boot tab? Hope that helps.

Also, after you enable Secure Boot, you might need to change the boot mode from Legacy to UEFI.

Agreed. Yeah, and just a heads up, switching to UEFI mode can sometimes require you to reinstall your current OS, so back up first.

Same here. Oh, and that error you're seeing is likely about Secure Boot—did you check if that's enabled in the BIOS too?

Agreed. I had the same problem. I ended up having to enable Secure Boot *and* switch the BIOS to UEFI mode, not Legacy, before it finally worked. Let me know if that works.

This happened to me. I also had to find the exact TPM setting, which HP had buried under "Security > TPM Device" in my BIOS.

+1 Yeah, and after that, you'll likely need to enable Secure Boot in the BIOS too—that's probably the "S" error.

Yeah, Right, and you might also need to switch the BIOS from Legacy/CSM to UEFI mode for Secure Boot to even be an option.

Agreed, and after you switch to UEFI, you'll likely have to go back in and manually enable Secure Boot in that same menu.

Same here. You could also check HP's support site for a BIOS update that might enable the proper TPM version. Another option is to use the official Media Creation Tool to bypass some of the setup checks.
