Yeah, that's solid advice. Also, temporarily disable any antivirus software during the upgrade, as it can sometimes cause that specific error.

This. Agreed, that's a good step. One more tip: if you have any external drives or USB sticks plugged in, unplug those too before trying again.

Agreed. Also, have you checked if you have any pending Windows updates that need to be installed first?

I had the same problem with that exact error. For me, it was a driver conflict, and updating my graphics driver finally let the upgrade go through.

Same here. Before you try that driver fix, have you made a full backup of those photos and documents to an external drive or cloud service yet?
