Yeah, that BIOS trick worked for me too. Just a heads up, you might need to also disable any "VMD Controller" setting in there if you still get stuck.

Agreed. I had the same problem. I had to boot from a USB installer and run the startup repair a couple times before it finally took.

Can confirm. This happened to me, and startup repair didn't work. I ended up having to go back to a restore point from the advanced options.

This. Did you try booting into safe mode from that same advanced options menu? Hope that helps.

Agreed. Yeah, safe mode's a good next step. If that doesn't work, you might need to use the installation media to run a startup repair.

Can confirm. I had the same problem. For me, running startup repair from a USB installer finally got things moving again. Hope that helps.
