Yeah, that backup is your safety net, but to fix the error, can you check if you have any non-essential external devices like printers or USB drives disconnected during the upgrade?

Can confirm. I had the same problem. That error popped up for me until I ran the Windows Update troubleshooter and made sure my drivers were updated.

You could also try temporarily disconnecting any non-essential peripherals, like extra monitors or printers, as they can sometimes interfere with the upgrade process.

I had the same problem with that error. My system image backup was a lifesaver and got all my files back when the upgrade failed.

You could also try running the Windows Update Troubleshooter first, as that specific error can sometimes be fixed by clearing update corruption.

Same here. I had the same problem with that error. My system image backup was a lifesaver and got all my files back when the upgrade looped.

Yeah, that backup is definitely your best safety net. One extra tip: temporarily disconnect any non-essential USB devices before trying the upgrade again, as they can sometimes cause that error. Let me know if that works.

+1 Agreed, that's solid advice. Also, double-check you have all Windows Updates installed for Windows 10 first—it can resolve a lot of underlying compatibility issues.

Yeah, and just to be sure, have you checked if your PC actually meets all the Windows 11 requirements, like TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot?

I had the same problem. That error often pops up if a driver is incompatible, so your system image backup was definitely the right first move.
