Yeah, that setting usually does it. A quick tip: if it's already checked, try unchecking it, hitting apply, then re-checking it to force a refresh.

Agreed. You could also try a dedicated program like Exact Audio Copy for more reliable metadata. Another option is to check if your firewall is blocking Windows Media Player's internet access.

Yeah, that's solid advice. One more thing: sometimes just right-clicking the album in the library and selecting "Find album info" can force it to search again.

Agreed, that usually does the trick. Also, if you're on a newer Windows version, double-check that the "Get album info from the internet" option is still enabled in the privacy settings. Hope that helps.

Can confirm. I had the same problem. It finally started working again for me after I went into the privacy settings and re-checked that box for getting media info online.

Same here. I had the same problem. I found that turning off the Windows Firewall temporarily while ripping the CD sometimes let the database connect and grab the info.

You could also try checking the "Download usage rights automatically" box in the player's privacy settings. Another option is to just use a different program like MusicBee, which often has better luck fetching those details. Hope that helps.

I had the same problem. I ended up switching to MusicBee like the other person suggested, and it finds all the details instantly.

+1 Yeah, it's a real pain—have you checked if the "Get album info from the internet" option is still enabled in the rip settings? Let me know if that works.
