Yeah, and sometimes temporarily disabling your antivirus during the install can help it get past that final hurdle.

Same here. I had the same problem. For me, unplugging all my USB devices except the mouse and keyboard finally let the upgrade finish.

Agreed. Yeah, that worked for me too. Also, try temporarily disabling your antivirus before starting the upgrade—sometimes that’s the culprit.

You could also check for any pending driver updates, especially for your chipset or storage controller, as outdated ones can cause that specific error.

This. I had the same problem. For me, it was a BIOS setting—I had to enable TPM and secure boot.

Agreed. Yeah, that fixed it for me too. Also, try temporarily disabling any third-party antivirus before starting the upgrade.

Can confirm. You could also try freeing up a lot of space on your main drive, like 30+ GB, as the installer sometimes needs more than it says.

This. You could also temporarily disconnect any non-essential USB devices, like printers or external drives, as they can sometimes interfere with the installation.

Agreed. Yeah, and it's worth double-checking that you have all the latest drivers from your manufacturer's website, especially for your chipset and storage.

This happened to me, and I finally got it by temporarily unplugging all my non-essential USB devices before starting the upgrade.
