This happened to me. For me, turning off transparency effects and animations in the accessibility settings gave me a noticeable speed boost.

I had the same problem. For me, it was a BIOS setting—I had to enable TPM and secure boot to finally get past that black screen.

Yeah, and after you enable Secure Boot, you might also need to change the TPM device from "discrete" to "firmware" in that same security menu.

Can confirm. You could also try enabling Secure Boot in your BIOS, since that's another common requirement it doesn't always flag clearly.
