+1 Did you try the rollback option in Safe Mode, or are you also stuck before you can even get to the recovery menu?

Same here. I had the same problem. I had to free up a ton of space on my drive before it finally let the upgrade go through.

Yeah, that BIOS update is the right call. Also, double-check that the fTPM setting is still enabled after you update, as it can sometimes reset.
