Agreed, that can help. Also, make sure you're plugged into power the whole time, as interruptions during that phase can cause it to fail.

I had the same problem. I had to go into my BIOS and manually enable Intel PTT, even though the header was empty. Let me know if that works.

Also, could you check if you have any pending Windows updates or if your BIOS is up to date?
