This. You could also try booting into safe mode and running a system file check with the command "sfc /scannow" to fix any corrupted Windows files.

I had this issue with my own 7700K. From what I have seen, it's a hard stop because Microsoft requires specific security features that older chips lack. You can force an install with an ISO, but it's not officially supported and might not get updates.

You could also try booting into safe mode and rolling back the update from there.

Yeah, same here. A quick restart into the BIOS and back out sometimes forces Windows to recognize the change.
