+1 Yeah, that registry trick is the way to go. Just be sure to unplug your internet before you run the installer so Windows Update doesn't try to block it again.

This. Agreed, updating the BIOS is the best next step. Also, double-check that Secure Boot is enabled in the BIOS after the update.
